My first gift I decided to give today is a little something for my amazing mother. Like most Americans, we are an extremely busy family. My mom is a teacher/super mom, my dad is always out of town for work/in the process of earning his MBA, my older brother is in college, my younger brother is busy with school and soccer, and I'm busy with school and cross country. So it's really rare that we all actually are in the same room eating dinner or watching tv together. It's quite depressing I'm not going to lie, but the good thing is we do try our best to help one another out in any small way & be each other's support.
I'm going to be honest though at home I don't help out around as much as I should. So I decided tonight was the perfect opportunity to do a little something for my mom to thank her for all that she does for me and my brothers. While she was out experiencing what an ordinary day is like at school for me at the back to school night, I decided to heat up our favorite frozen food, chicken breast with stuffed broccoli. Sadly, I'm not quite there with making anything fancy just yet. When she came home though, she seemed very happy I was thinking of her and she smiled & thanked me(: I love when my mom laughs and smiles because it's like the whole house is happy.

I feel that was appropriate for this :P
Great first give :) You'll be amazed at what a little consideration does for your relationship with your parents... Mine have gotten so much better since I've started giving :)
Hello and welcome. I can see you are off and running and doing fabulous things on your journey!
What a wonderful start to your challenge, Kathleen! You are very mature for your age, acknowledging the fact that life is busy and it is hard to find time to just sit together as a family. Your meal sounds very good, and I know your Mom's heart probably melted when she walked in to dinner!
