29-Day Giving Challenge

Tuesday my gift was to buy a card for my friend Ashley's father who was recently dianosed with prostate cancer. I know him very well because he used to work at my company, he retired last year. I met Ashley through him and we became very good friends. Thankfully the doctors say that his chances of recovery are very good, about 97%. Still, this family has had so many health problems all of them, father, mother, and daughter that this is just one more thing to add to the heap. They simply can't catch a break and they are such nice people. I hope he liked the card.

The gift I received was Ashley volunteering to watch my dog for one day next Tuesday when I need to go to Atlantic City for work. I'm leaving Monday night and won't be back until Tuesday night, and I was stressing because I always ask my cousins for favors and I felt bad asking them again. Ashley said she would love to do it, she loves Niko so I feel good about her watching him.

Tuesday I gave with gratitude, for my health and for good friends:)

p.s.--Terrance update: I'm sorry to say Terrance isn't doing any better. His supervisor went to see him since he called and was told Terrance could have visitors, only to get to the hospital and be told that it was family only. So he was able to sneak in for a few minutes but Terrance was unresponsive and still highly sedated. He is listed as critical but stable. The doctor did say that even though he doesn't give any outward signs, by the monitors he can tell that Terrance does know when people are in the room with him. Poor thing.

any time someone we love is diagnosed with the "C" word it is scary. it sounds like your friend's Dad's cancer was caught early so in all likelihood he'll be fine. my husband had it and this month makes 5 years since his surgery so he's officially in remission. y'all's love and support will help him tremendously. i hope Terrance comes out of his coma very soon. Hugs, Dawn
