29-Day Giving Challenge

You know, I've had some great gives over the past several days. (I've also been BLESSED with some beautiful "receives"). I haven't written about them...oh, because of this and that. I'm feeling the need to make my journaling here a priority. Even if it's short-n-sweet- if it's about giving and goodness, it's worth writing about.

The energy is positive here. I love the posts from all of you. I hope to read them all! It may sound like a lot, but if you treat the whole site and all your writings like a living, never-ending book, where you read bits and pieces as you may, then it all works out.

It's all good.

Friday I dropped off a bag of veggies at my best friend's house. She wasn't home, and they were from my sister's garden. I simply left them hanging on her door in a canvas bag to surprise her. She didn't know they were from me and THAT was great!

I also remembered where a friend lives...and I had to dig back 15 or so years to the time when I used to be in advertising for a local paper and called on her as a client! I didn't know her back then as I do today. Small world. Anyway, she just had surgery and I made her a Hope Angel bracelet. I hadn't gotten it to her when I wanted to because I had some eye trouble. (It's resolved now...thank You, GOD). So, on Saturday, I drove around, found her house, surprised her and gave her the bracelet. She loved it and I felt proud for having found her house....(you'd be proud of me, too if you knew my sense of direction, or lack thereof....) I then went on to teach.

On Sunday I agreed to go with Charlie to the airport to visit with some of his friends for a bit. I didn't really want to go, but I dug deep and thought about compromise. Okay, I said to myself. Go for a while and then see where the rest of Sunday takes you. Charlie has been down with a cold for over a week and I hate feeling so helpless. You know that feeling? You just want to help someone you love feel better and you can't. All you can do is be there. So, off we went to the Mansfield Airport, only to find the group who usually meets up every Sunday wasn't meeting up...Oh, well. It's all about intention.

Today is Monday. I didn't have to teach per the summer schedule. So, I focused on making bracelets, getting my niece her birthday gift, (I can't wait to give it to her...she'll be 9 and LOVES clothes!), paid a bill, then got some groceries. I held the door for a woman just because I felt like it. Little things like that create so much good- so much positive energy. I feel it go right through me. Funny thing is, it always seems to come back- even though you give without expectation. You realize it when someone holds the door for you, or lets you go in traffic, or smiles at you.

When things run full circle, it's amazing. It's enlightening. It's beautiful.

I have some of my own music I'd like to share with you. I don't know that you'd call it a give, but I hope you enjoy it. Please keep in mind I mixed all this myself in the corner of my dining room! I taught myself how to do this, and that was a feat. I sang, played, used my computer and a program called Nero, a karaoke machine and my piano keyboard. I've done this over the past four years, and decided to put some of my vocals on one of my websites. If you feel like listening to one, part of one, or all five of the songs I chose, please do. It's not professional quality- it's just me, raw, honest and doing what I love- Music & Me. There's part of my 'story' about growing up in a musical family, etc.

It's here: http://ellendubois.com/music.html

Love, Light and Blessings to you all-
