When a Teenager Knows Best! (Round 2 Day 11)

As the saying goes, teenagers know it all and parents know NOTHING! Well, this is one of those times when my teenager thought I didn't know what I was talking about, so she learned the hard way-ORANGE HAIR. It makes me laugh now, but it certainly wasn't funny at the moment because when Sami's world crashes, so does mine. I told Sami that I didn't know how to dye hair and she then said, "well it can't be that hard, right?" I then told her that I wouldn't do it because it's not something you can fix right away if you make a mistake. Well, in Sami fashion, she dyed her own hair and managed to produce an orange spot on the top of her head and for some reason it was my fault. I told her this is why I pay my stylist big dollars to do my hair, but what do I know, right?? So as the good mom that I am, I called and begged my stylist to come in on her day off and fix my teenagers orange hair. She gladly did without hesitation. I, of course, brought her a Christmas CD and a Starbucks Coffee Card to show her how much I appreciated her fixing Sami's mess up and making my life livable again.

Everyday I still wish I was as "SMART" as I was when I was a teenager and KNEW EVERYTHING...Sami is an awfully lucky young lady...I'm sure through your grace she will be an amazing woman!

three cheers for Mom! Sami will remember that when she's older, especially the fact that you didn't laugh at her. i know i really appreciated my Mom not laughing at me when i was 13 and accidentally shaved half an eyebrow off (don't ask LOL). Hugs, Dawn

How lucky for your daughter that you had a stylist to fix the orange spot. Great gives to your stylist. You two look beautiful in the picture.

What a gorgeous picture! Your story reminds me I need to keep a sense of humor when dealing with my own teenagers. It's a roller coaster of emotions when dealing with teens. I guess all you can do is hold on tight and try to enjoy the ride!
