29-Day Giving Challenge

I haven't been posting on 29 Gifts but that doesn't mean I haven't been giving. For the last month most of my attention and giving has been focused on Haiti. I have been giving small donations nearly daily to the organizations on the ground that I know are doing good work: Doctors Without Borders, CARE, Catholic Relief Charities, UNICEF, the Red Cross, Albert Schweitzer Hospital, Yele, Concert for Haiti, etc.

I am so worried that people will forget about Haiti now that news coverage has been reduced to a trickle. The latest figures are that 240,000 people have died. TB and other diseases are real and present dangers to recovery. I don't want people to just write Haiti off in their minds. So on my FB page and Twitter account, I have been keeping Haiti in the consciousness of my FB friends and Twitter followers. The continued recovery and ensuing rebuilding will be going on for a long time. I am committing myself to never forget to not stop giving.

BTW here is a short video where my daughter discusses how much small gifts help.

Peace and Blessings,

Gayle

You know, I just saw another ad for Haitian relief, and although I've already given and given to that relief (some of the same charities that you mentioned), I'm going to text them another $10.00 today. I'm so grateful for being an American who has the means to help.
