29-Day Giving Challenge

Yoga gifts have a way of giving back

The last 5 days have flown by, and pinch me, I see I am already 10 days into the challenge -- more than a third of the way to the end!
I already feel so uplifted. In just 10 days my entire outlook has gone from being fairly dark to seeing that there is more good than bad.
A quick recap of last 5 days: On Dec. 15, I gave a certificate for two one-hour yoga sessions to a dear friend of mine. To my surprise, she said it was the one thing she had always wanted -- that she just had never got around to treating herself to personalized sessions. How cool is that?
The next day I made a loan through kiva.org to a woman who is running a grocery store in the Middle East, and will use the funds to expand her business.
Then the following day I had great fun ducking out of work at lunchtime to run to a boutique that my daughter had bought some Christmas presents at, to buy a very special present for my favorite yoga studio. All wrapped and accompanied with a handmade card, I tucked it among the cleaning supplies when I went for my next session. They will have found it later that day. I didn't sign the card. It doesn't matter who it came from as long as I let them know what a world of difference they've made in my life!
Early the next day, I floated a candle in a hollowed-out coconut down the river, accompanied by flowers. A symbolic gift to the God(s), as a tribute and as a sign that a miracle is needed within my brother's family. It is a problem that I am unsure anyone (human at least) can fix. I've been praying and meditating about this a lot. I don't want to go into any more detail, but if anyone else wants to send out a request for a miracle to God/universe/the void, I'd be grateful.
Today our holiday plans hit a glitch. But no matter. We made the best of it. Instead, I gave my daughter a one-hour yoga session at our local studio, and I joined her. John Lennon's "Imagine" came on during "savasana" and she reached out and held my hand. You see, if you needed proof, there it is. Gifts do come back!
I wish you all many blessings.
