We didn't get a real tree last year, and I MISSED it. Something about the fresh cut smell of the tree. Just love it. I have it standing in the foyer, but haven't put any lights on yet, may wait till dark. (My least favorite part.) The guys decorated all the shrubs and the two small trees, can't wait to see them lit up at dark. I sure bet your cookies are scrumptious. I've actually been cooking for the past week, didn't realize how much I missed home cookin. Tonight is Beef Stew. Mmmmmm Great on a chilly night.

Got the Christmas Tree, now running to Walmart for some lights. Pine smells so wonderful. I'm beginning to feel that Christmas feeling.(We actually got a Fraser Fir, I like them because they don't drop as many needles.)

Sounds like an exciting day Lois. Of course your a MI family..hehe Where were the kids up north? My hubby is fixin me poached eggs (yum) and then we are out to get a Christmas Tree. I didn't think I was going to this year, but when I got a whiff of the wonderful pine smell, I decided I had to do it. Most of today will be busy getting out the Christmas decorations. Not as many as I used to, but some. lol I'll check in later.

Thanks, Lois. I had a beautiful day, yesterday and today seems just as wonderful. Woke up around 7am, took the dog for a walk and enjoyed the beautiful, cold morning. One thing I enjoy doing to brighten my day and feel positive energy early on is to walk the dog but as I do so, I explore the world around me with eyes of a child. For example, I'll pretend I've never seen the trees before, or the buildings, or the park... etc. and it always makes me appreciate everything around me. It makes me smile to wonder how old the trees are or how they survived civilization creating roads and fences and walkways around them. I know it's kind of silly but it makes me return to the child in me... children can always find a way to smile with the simplest of things. =) I'm rambling... I'm sorry lol I just thought I'd share my morning with you and wish you a wonderful day dear friend! xo
